Why one gray letter does not always eliminate that letter
Read every copy of the same letter together. Under conventional Wordle-style scoring, correctly placed copies are counted first. Misplaced copies can then receive yellow only while an unused copy remains in the answer. Extra copies receive gray.

This is a constructed teaching example, not a screenshot or answer from The Login Game. Assume the target is APPLE and the guess is ALLEY, using the scoring rule described above.

The useful conclusion is not “remove L.” It is “keep one L and move it.” APPLE contains one L; the second guessed L has no remaining copy to match.
This example explains a feedback convention. The site's current evidence has not independently replay-tested every duplicate-letter edge case in the Roblox implementation. Your actual board remains the source for your run.
Build the next guess from constraints
- Write down the green positions and leave them fixed.
- Keep the yellow letters, but exclude the positions where they were yellow.
- Count repeated letters before discarding a gray copy.
- Compare a candidate word with all previous rows, not only the latest row.
